What is covered under the plan?

Tech support starts the day you enroll in the plan. The following coverages begin Day 31 from enrollment date:

  • Drops, spills and cracked screens during normal use on portable products
  • Mechanical/electrical malfunctions
  • Failures due to normal wear and tear
  • Power surge failures

What is not covered under the plan?

How many products does my plan cover?

Your plan covers an unlimited number of eligible electronics purchased on Amazon. There is an annual total claim limit of $3,000/year for all repairs, replacement and reimbursements provided under the plan.

Does my plan cover electronics I previously purchased on Amazon?

Yes, your plan covers eligible electronics that you purchased two years prior to the date you enrolled in the plan and all future purchases.

What type of tech is covered under the plan?

  • Amazon branded devices
  • Gaming systems
  • Cameras and video cameras
  • Desktops, laptops, tablets
  • PC peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, mice, routers and speakers
  • LCD, Plasma and LED televisions and original remote controls and universal remote controls
  • Home theater equipment such as receivers, sound bars, speaker sets, theater amplifiers, subwoofers and tuners
  • Audio electronics such as headphones and headsets
  • Streaming media players and MP3 players
  • Home office electronics
  • Wearable electronics such as Fitbits and smart watches
  • Smart home products
  • Mobile Phones are not included

Do the electronics have to be purchased from Amazon?

Yes, the products must be purchased on Amazon.

When does my plan start?

Tech support begins on the day you enroll. Protection coverage begins day 31 from enrollment.

Do the products have to be purchased on the same account to be eligible for coverage?

Yes, products must be purchased on the same account as the Tech Unlimited plan to be eligible.

What if I previously purchased a protection plan on Amazon for an electronic device that is now also covered by my new plan?

You can request a refund for an active Asurion protection plan purchased on Amazon for a device that is also covered by your new plan. You can receive a full or prorated refund depending on when the preceding plan was purchased. If you would like to cancel a previously purchased Asurion protection plan, simply login to your Amazon account and navigate to Your Orders under Accounts & Lists and search "Asurion". Find the plan you want to cancel. If you purchased the plan within the past 30 days, click "Cancel Item." Otherwise, click "Problem with order" and follow the prompts by clicking "No longer needed" then "Return item."

Filing a Claim

How do I file a claim?

You can complete your entire claim online – it’s the quickest and easiest way to get your product back up and running.

Is there a waiting period before I can file a claim?

Yes, you can't file a claim until day 31 from enrollment into the plan. Failures during or prior to the first 30 days will not be covered.

What do I need to file a claim?

You will need your Amazon order number for your Asurion plan, which you can find in your order confirmation email or by going to Your Memberships and Subscriptions and searching “Asurion.” You will also need eligible product purchase details (product description, price and purchase date) to submit a claim.

Are there any additional service fees when filing a claim?

Yes, products with a purchase price of $500 or higher before taxes will have a service fee of $99 plus applicable taxes.

Claim Limits

Is there a total claim limit?

Yes, there is an annual total claim limit of $3,000 for all repairs, replacements or reimbursements provided under the plan. The $3,000 claim limit will reset every 12-months from date of your first claim.

Is there a limit to the number of claims I can make?

There is no limit on the number of claims, but the total amount that will be paid out to cover the cost of all claims for all products is limited to $3,000 every 12-months from first claim.

If I don’t use the entire $3,000 claim limit within a 12-month period, does it rollover to the next year?

No, it does not roll over to the next year. The $3,000 claim limit will reset every 12-months from the date of your first claim.

Service Fees

Do all products have service fees?

No, only products with a purchase price of $500 or higher before taxes will have a service fee of $99 plus applicable taxes.

Billing

How and when will I be billed for my Tech Unlimited plan?

Amazon will bill the credit card you used when you enrolled in your plan on the same purchase date each month. For example, if you purchased the plan on Dec. 5th you will be billed on the 5th of each month until you cancel the plan. On your credit card statement, it will appear as a charge from “Amazon Digital Services”.

What if I need to change the credit card being billed each month?

Simply log in to your Amazon account and update the credit card under Your Memberships and Subscriptions.

Can I cancel my plan?

Yes. You may cancel your plan anytime. Coverage ends 30 days after the cancellation date.
